Positive Behavior Support
The heart of this program is to teach, promote, and reward positive behaviors within the school setting.

With this program in place, we are so excited to report that we see a big difference in our school atmosphere. Students know and understand the expectations and are striving to be positive community members. By implementing P.B.S., we believe that students will be more academically focused and teachers will be able to provide more academic instruction. We have already seen the program’s success specifically by reducing the number of discipline referrals by two thirds compared to last year at this time-wow!
We encourage you to have conversations with your student about our S.T.O.R.M. behaviors and S.T.O.R.M. tickets. Together we can all promote positive behavior here at school and in the community at large. Thanks so much for your support. |

| As students follow our expected behavior standards, the staff is diligently signing red S.T.O.R.M. tickets and acknowledging students. When a student completes a ticket with 10 signatures, they can use it to “purchase” rewards and prizes from teachers, administrators, and the school store before and after school. Some of the prizes include using the teacher’s wheelie chair for the hour, a positive phone call home, permission to wear a hat during school, Silver Hills gear, or a gift card to a local store. Depending on resources and demand, we will continually update and change the purchase options for students. Additionally, tickets that have been redeemed will be put into a grade level drawing for larger items at the end of each trimester. If you have donation items or ideas for rewards please contact one of the administrators; we would really appreciate the help! |
